Massage
What are the benefits of massage?
Massage improves lymphatic drainage, circulatorary function and congestion of tissue in muscles. It can ease muscle spasm, taut muscle bands, helps in the drainage of swelling, and aids in healing by providing fresh blood to tissues starved of it. It can be used proactively, for example, in the breakdown of scar tissue or it can be used to simply relax muscles.
What types of massage do you offer?
Sports Massage - a vigorous massage, which targets muscles which have been over-used either athletically or by other means (for example postural). Sports massage uses not just the hands but uses other parts of the body such as elbows and fists to apply increased pressure to deeper muscle structures. It can be used to loosen up muscles prior to a sporting event, or to provide relief and muscle relaxation after an event.
Swedish Massage - a more relaxing massage, structured to provide softer massage techniques. Suitable for general relaxation of muscles without specific injury.
Thai Massage - this uses advanced stretching and mobilisation techniques. A physical massage that applies more pressure than a Swedish Massage.
Hot & Cold Stone Massage - Using basalt lava and marble stones to give either an extremely relaxing or invigorating massage treatment.
Relaxation Massage - a relaxing massage which can be used to soothe any areas of tension and stress.
Our massage therapists do not necessarily need to stick rigidly to the booked massage during your visit and can use a variety of the above techniques according to your requirements on the day.
